The fabulous first floor apartment has only been her home for approximately 16 months. It is one of just 12 in the exclusive, purpose-built block. "I bought it from brand new and it was everything I was looking for and in exactly the right location," she admits. "Sadly, however, I have no alternative but to move now for reasons of work. It does mean, however, that everything here is still immaculate. It is all still very new and yet enhanced by a few touches of my own, such as plantation shutters and cornicing to bring a little character in. It is ready for someone to move straight into." LIGHT AND AIRY The two-bedroom apartment has been finished to a high specification and offers generous accommodation. "The drawing room is very, very spacious, with these exceptionally large windows on two sides," she explains. "It is very light and airy. There is ample space in this room for a dining table and chairs as well as comfortable seating. I have the table positioned in front of the window so I can sit there and look out at the trees." The kitchen, which has under-floor heating, is also a good size and has been fitted out to a high standard. "There are plenty of work surfaces, making it ideal for anyone who likes baking or cooking for guests," she observes. "There is also space in here for a round table, where I can sit and eat when I do not have visitors." BEAUTIFUL BEDROOMS With two bedrooms, it has been very easy to accommodate guests, she explains. "I love my bedroom as it looks out towards the forest and is very light. Each of the two bedrooms has its own en suite bath or shower room; this has been ideal when friends or family come to stay. The bathroom for the guest room is particularly nice as it has a bath as well as a shower," she says. "There is also a cloakroom in the hall." Having two bedrooms also offers great flexibility. "Someone else could arrange one as a study if they wished to be able to work from home." AFTERNOONS OUT On sunny days, the owner of the apartment likes to wander down to the quiet communal garden to sit out in the sunshine. She also enjoys strolling over to Ascot Racecourse or hopping in her car and making the five-minute drive to Guards. "I can go off to enjoy the many beautiful places that are right on the doorstep," she says. "I am passionate about horse-riding and polo - so being so close to Guards is wonderful. I also love going to Virginia Water to go walking, jogging or for a picnic. There is so much choice if you want an afternoon out." She adds: "I have two parking spaces here at Ascot Corner, which is perfect for me as it gives me space for guests too." A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY Proximity to Ascot High Street means shops, cafés and restaurants are all within an easy stroll. It is also quick to reach the railway station and from there to catch a train into the city. "This could be an ideal place to live if you wish to be able to commute into London every day for work or to visit theatres and galleries at weekends." She agrees she will miss everything about the location, from its leafy tranquillity to its exceptional convenience. "This is such an amazing apartment - I was so lucky to get it and am so sorry to be leaving now," she admits. "I know I will never be able to find anywhere else quite like it again."
The apartment block is set in communal gardens that may be enjoyed by the residents of all 12 properties. This particular apartment benefits from two private parking spaces and also has a storage area.
Looking out from her exceptional apartment at Ascot Corner, the current owner enjoys the magnificent leafy views. "I have these huge, over-sized windows that bring the light flooding in and look towards the beautiful woodland," she explains. "These are protected trees so the views should never change and they attract lots of wildlife. I see all sorts of birds from my apartment, as well as squirrels and sometimes deer. I am lucky enough to be able to enjoy the changing colours of the seasons from my home and yet at the same times I can just stroll down to Ascot High Street whenever I choose."
