2 Bedroom flat Ascot Place, Ascot SL5 £550,000

Superbly presented two bedroom ground floor executive apartment boasting 2 bedrooms and underground parking

An elevated executive style ground floor 2 bedroom luxury apartment offering spacious well appointed accommodation with the benefit of underground parking

THE STORY
Having travelled extensively and lived in Australia, Italy and Hong Kong, the current owners of the apartment at Ascot Place were overjoyed to be able to put down some roots. Their stylish home was in an ideal location and offered them the calm, stability and space they were seeking. "We have been here for nearly 12 years now and it just feels like home," one of them explains. "After all the moves, it has been such a lovely, quiet place to spend time. Although it is a ground floor apartment, it is elevated because of the way the land slopes, and we look out towards the trees from every window. It often feels as if we are living in a tree house." LIGHT FANTASTIC The owners still recall the first time they visited splendid Ascot Place, with its beautiful gardens and wide, elegant, communal entrance hall. "Then we stepped into the apartment and saw the size of the living area, which was open-plan to the kitchen - it was very much like where we had lived in Australia," she recalls. "The kitchen was beautifully fitted out and there was a large central island. The whole apartment was light and airy, with French windows on to the terrace, and a nice feeling of space. It all felt very bright and new - and it still feels like that now." SUMPTUOUS SPACES The luxurious ground floor apartment is entered via the communal hall and then a private entrance. Here the reception hall leads to the main living area, as well as to two good-sized bedrooms and bathrooms. The master bedroom enjoys an en suite shower room, while the guest room has access to the family bathroom. "The master bedroom is lovely - we can lie in bed and watch the squirrels running up the trees," she says. "We tend to use the second bedroom as a study as we both work from home. This has been ideal as there is plenty of room for our computers on the desk and for a day bed, which can be made up for overnight guests if necessary." SPECTACULAR LIVING SPACE The jewel in the crown of the apartment, however, is the spectacular, open-plan living space. This offers generous space for various arrangements of comfortable seating and dining furniture. Its open-plan design and easy flow into the kitchen area is superb for entertaining, and its French windows on to the terrace are a fabulous feature during the warmer months. "This is a great room for relaxing quietly in and listening to the birds or for welcoming friends and family on occasion," she says. "The kitchen area is gorgeous - in fact, it is the best kitchen I have ever had. It has everything in it one could possibly need and lots of space for storage and preparing meals." EXQUISITE GARDEN On warm days, they enjoy nothing more than sitting out on the terrace with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. "We also love being able to stroll out into the communal courtyard garden, which has been arranged as a parterre," she says. "Quite often you will see one of the residents out there with a bottle of wine and then someone else will go out to join them with a glass. It is very friendly here - if you want to socialise then you can. There is generally a barbecue in the summer and a get-together at Christmas time, for those who wish to join in."
SETTING THE SCENE
Ascot Place is set in beautiful, landscaped gardens, with leafy boundaries. The ground floor apartment also benefits from a private outside terrace. The property comes with underground parking and additional space for visitors.
WHATS NEARBY
The owners have enjoyed the tranquillity of the setting, while also being able to shop in Ascot and Windsor, and to get to the train station and major roads very easily for travel further afield. Heathrow Airport is within easy reach for major trips and weekends away. "
WITHIN EASY REACH
It is wonderful being so close to everything - we also love walking in Windsor Great Park and having a key to the racecourse if we want to have a stroll closer to home." They will miss their Ascot home greatly but have decided to return to Australia to be closer to their children and grandchildren. "We are very sad to be leaving," she admits. "We love this place so much, especially all the beautiful trees and other greenery."
