Deciding to buy it at such an early stage, not only allowed the owners to make decisions about its finish but also to ensure everything was finished to their own specification. “We were able to choose the kitchen, bathrooms and tiles, and to have special wardrobes fitted in the master bedroom. We were very pleased with the way everything came together to create a beautiful finish.”


The magnificent house, which has been designed for easy, contemporary living and for large-scale entertaining is entered via an impressive reception hall, from which all the living space is accessed. “The whole house feels very light and open from the moment you step inside,” she observes. Glass balustrades and bright, spacious rooms and living areas come together to offer a good sense of flow and sumptuous, easy living. There is access to a ground-floor cloakroom; a sitting room is situated to one side of the hall, while a dining room or snug is to the other. “The beauty of this house is that it has a very versatile design, with rooms and spaces that can have differing uses depending on the requirements of the new owners.”


The heart of the house, where a capacious family room is open-plan to the kitchen breakfast room, and also leads into a drawing room, can be found a few steps down. Here there is a large central island with breakfast bar, ample space for dining and comfortable furniture, and doors can be opened on to a Juliet balcony to bring in a cool breeze on hot summer days. There is also a utility room. “The bespoke, handcrafted kitchen was from Optiplan and features white marble work surfaces, as well as integrated appliances. There is plenty of space in here for a family to spread out and yet to be together at the same time. The doors leading through into the drawing room also make it perfect for parties.”


The lower ground floor of the house has been designed to be an outstanding leisure area, but once again could have all sorts of potential uses. “There is a large room, with bi-folding doors on to the garden: this could be ideal as a gym,” she says. “We had always considered installing a kitchenette down here, however. We thought this would work well for barbecues and summer parties.” Indeed, the seamless flow on to the garden here offers exceptional indoor-outdoor living. “We really enjoyed the garden, which we had landscaped, because it was so quiet and private,” she adds.


All four beautiful bedrooms fan off an expansive landing where natural light streams down from above. Two of these have en suite shower room, while the master bedroom and guest room have en suite bathrooms.
