6 Bedroom detached house Snows Paddock, Windlesham £1,950,000

An immaculately presented 6 bedroom detached house completed to a high standard of specification and offering well proportioned elegant accommodation

Approached via a gated entrance this elegant 6 bedroom detached family home is conveniently situated on the fringes of Windlesham. This most impressive property boasts many delightful features combining with a high standard of specification where modern features and technology meet contemporary style and elegance. Paddock view offers light filled and versatile accommodation arranged over 3 floors with double garage and ample parking.

Standing on the landing early in the morning, the owner of Paddock View used to enjoy pausing for a minute or two to look out over her garden and the field behind. "There would often be a thin layer of mist and I could see the horses running about in the paddock," she recalls. "It was magical." Situated at Snows Paddock, Windlesham, the impressive, detached house offered the perfect balance of semi-rural living and proximity to everything the family needed. "We loved the area, it had that sense of tranquillity and seclusion that you often seek when you have lived somewhere like London yet at the same time you are within easy reach of good pubs and restaurants, so you can still have a glamorous night out if you choose." FAMILY LIVING Sitting comfortably within its own attractive, landscaped grounds, six-bedroom Paddock View is approximately five years old. "We bought it from new when we had one son of 13 to 14 months-old and another on the way," she explains. "It had such a nice, welcoming feeling, and we knew it would be easy to live in because everything was so well laid-out. It had a fantastic family kitchen, with a large dining space and television area, which worked extremely well for us as we had young children." The bedrooms were also very well positioned for family living: "There was one that was next to the master suite, which was ideal as a nursery, and then two larger ones also close by that were great when they were a little older." MAKING AN ENTRANCE The red-brick property, which was built by a reputable local company, known for its high-end homes, is accessed via a gated driveway and then a colonnaded portico. The front door opens into a splendid entrance hall, with a wooden floor and oak and glass staircase. "At the front of the house is a room which could be used as a separate dining room but was ideal for us as an office; we had two desks in there as it was so spacious," she says. A downstairs cloakroom can also be found off the hall and double doors open into the kitchen, dining and family room at the back of the house. To one side this leads into the formal drawing room, which is dual aspect, while to the other it leads into the utility room. HEART OF THE HOUSE The kitchen, dining and family room is very much the heart of the house. This features a stylish, well planned food preparation and storage area, with breakfast bar. There is also generous space for a large dining table and chairs, as well as comfortable seating. "This part of the house was also perfect for entertaining," she says. "We would often have friends over, including on New Year's Eve, when we would all order Chinese and Indian food and everyone could spread out." Christmas was another special time of year at Paddock View: "We would put a large Christmas tree under the stairs and all the presents would spill out from underneath it," she remembers. BEAUTIFUL BEDROOMS With six bedrooms and four bathrooms in total there was always space for family and friends to stay. The master bedroom is on the first floor and features a substantial, walk-in dressing room, complete with fitted wardrobes and cupboards, as well as a large en suite bathroom. Another bedroom on this floor has its own bathroom, while the remaining two bedrooms share a family bathroom. "On the floor above, we have two more large bedrooms and another shower room," she explains. "This was always great when my parents or other guests came to stay as they could have their own space."
Paddock View is accessed via a gated entrance and a driveway offering ample parking for several cars. There is also a double garage. The house sits very centrally in its grounds. To the rear there are private enclosed gardens, with space for sitting out in the sunshine and for children to play.
"With the M3 close by we could really get to anywhere we needed to," she says. "The location was perfect for us. It gave us the space and quiet country living we were hoping for and yet we could hop in a taxi and go somewhere like Coworth Park for the evening if we chose. It was a perfect house for a family - one of those properties that presents an immediate warmth as soon as you step inside."
In summer, the two sets of bi-folding doors in the kitchen were pulled right back and the family enjoyed the easy flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces. "There is a good-sized terrace and the children would do circuits around the house on their bikes!" she recalls. There were always superb parks and play areas within easy reach as well. The property was also convenient for commuting into London, Kingston, Guildford and Bracknell, with its new Lexicon shopping centre.
