3 Bedroom detached house Pigott Drive, Milton Keynes £525,000

This charming three double bedroom detached house on Pigott Drive, Shenley Church End
has a wealth of kerb appeal and stepping inside, the current owners were drawn to its
attractive interior and generous living space.

“It as been 9 years ago since we pulled up in front of the property and although Shenley
Church End was not an area we knew at all well, it was certainly a happy accident that we
were offered a last-minute viewing of the property. When we walked in through the front
door, we both agreed it 'just felt right for us'.
We walked around the area and saw just how pleasing the near vicinity was; very green with
a great deal of space around the houses on the tree-lined roads around Pigott Drive

AN HISTORIC PLACE
There is a lot of history of note in Shenley Church End as this was one of the original villages in the area. Indeed Shenley Church End still has its beautiful Norman church and its renowned “The Toot”, which includes the remains of a motte and bailey castle and earthworks from the landscaped gardens of a Tudor manor house. At various times, cattle are put into this area to keep the grass under control. We are also within walking distance of the ancient woodland of Shenley Wood, Howe Park Wood and Furzton Lake. We have found this area to be very convenient for the schools, local shopping area (with a Sainsbury'), health centre and bus to Central Milton Keynes station and Central Milton Keynes shopping area. The three-bedroom property is part of an exclusive development where the homes were designed with slight variations but all with the attractive arched windows and brick detailing, providing a sense of cohesion to the road.
LIGHT AND SPACE
Inside our home the arched windows add special features, both in the main bedroom at the front of the house and the side window to the lounge. Since moving in we have installed a new boiler, new guttering, carpet to stairs, landing and the three bedrooms, floor covering to the kitchen, bathroom and en suite, the wooden flooring on the ground floor is of good quality, changed the fireplace in the lounge with an oak surround. The bannisters and front door are now white inside, rather than the dark stain which made the hallway rather dark. We have installed new double glazing to the front and side of the house and retained dark brown finish on the outside and white inside, in keeping with the house; also painted walls throughout with white to enhance the light in the house.
LOVE AT FIRST SITE
As we are retired we spend our time, when we are at home, mainly in the spacious lounge which gives us a relaxing feel; the dining room patio door and kitchen window give us the view of our garden, and the house lends itself to spaces for entertaining in the dining room and on the patio in the warmer weather. Although we have not made any structural changes to the house, there is certainly a lot of potential ( subject to planning) to knock through between kitchen/dining area, extend out to the back of the house, a large loft space with loft ladder and partially boarded and the garage is of good size to possibly be converted into an annexe bedroom and bathroom.
MOVING ON
We think Milton Keynes overall is a brilliant place to live and this house in Shenley Church End has been just perfect for us. We will be sad to leave this lovely home but we have now decided that the time is right for us to downsize”.
