5 Bedroom detached house Field View, Eagle Farm South £900,000

The beautiful house at Field View has been further enhanced with bespoke touches of luxury throughout, making it an exceptionally stylish, as well as comfortable, family home

When the current owners moved in, they not only put their stamp on the property with a flourish of their own, but took it to another level altogether. The property, which was newly built two years ago, now exudes style and sophistication at every turn. Initially, the house appealed for many reasons, The vendor remembers “we bought it off-plan, it was in a style we really liked, and it had a lovely, large garden and private driveway. What really sold it to me, however, was the wonderful reception hall, with stairs ascending from the middle and then dividing to rise on either side. It is very beautiful.” Coming in at such an early stage meant she could give ample consideration to the property’s interior design. “We upgraded it after moving in,” she explains. “For example, I installed a high-specification, shaker-style kitchen from Ultrawood in Leighton Buzzard. It has beautiful, white stone work surfaces, with white cabinets and rose gold handles. The cupboards go all the way up to the ceiling.”

SPECTACULAR KITCHEN
The house, which is believed to have been built on farmland where Iron Age settlements once stood, opens up to reveal light-filled accommodation with generous proportions. “We spend most of the time in the kitchen dining room because it is absolutely gorgeous,” the vendor admits. “It has doors that open onto the garden, which is perfect for summer barbecues. There is a lovely central island, where we can sit up at the breakfast bar, but there is also plenty of space for the dining table and chairs.” The kitchen, which has natural wood-style Amtico flooring, features a range of integrated, high-end appliances, including a dishwasher and full-size fridge and freezer. “It even has a wine cooler, which is great for entertaining,” the vendor adds.
FAMILY LIFE
The Amtico flooring also runs throughout the hall and playroom. “This has been great because my children love arts and crafts,” she says. “I also created a seating nook for them under the stairs where they love to play games or read.” Also downstairs is the study, which is a good size, with ample space for a large desk, swivel chair, television and reclining seat. “This would be ideal for working from home or for someone who wanted to watch something different on television, perhaps,” the vendor suggests. There is also a cloakroom at ground-floor level.
WELCOMING FRIENDS
The final room downstairs is the attractive sitting room. This has also been beautifully designed both for entertaining and family relaxation, with wood panelling and a media wall with a large television. A set of double doors from here can be opened onto the garden during the warmer months. The generous reception space and easy flow onto the garden have made the living areas superb for welcoming friends and family. “We have had lots of lovely occasions here, including barbecues and children’s birthday parties,” the vendor adds.
BRIGHT AND AIRY
Upstairs, the gallery landing is something of another relaxation space. “We have a built-in bookcase and chaise longue here. It is nice to sit by the window and read.” All five bedrooms, which have blackout blinds integral to their windows, and the family bathroom are also on the first floor. Bedroom four, which has been fitted out by Ultrawood with floor-to-ceiling windows and an integrated desk, is currently being used as a dressing room. The master bedroom has an impressive four-piece, en-suite bathroom, and there is a guest bedroom with an en-suite shower room. “The layout of the house has worked extremely well for us, there is plenty of room for the family and for overnight guests.”
A DREAM HOME
The vendor plans to stay in the area. “This has been such a nice place to live,” she agrees. “The children take their roller skates and bikes out onto the red-way when they are not playing on the drive and this is an excellent location for accessing central Milton Keynes for work and to reach the M1 if I have to travel. Kingston, with its shops and eateries, is close by.” She will miss the friendly community, as well as the house itself, when she leaves. “I love everything about it – the high-quality finish, the calming neutral colour scheme and the social spaces, it really has been a dream home and now it is ready for someone else to move into and enjoy.”
SETTING THE SCENE
The large family garden has been fully landscaped and is now a superb place to spend time in the summer months. The terrace is ideal for outdoor entertaining and there is ample space for children to play. The garage has new electric doors and there is off-road parking on the driveway.
